What was your favorite new book for 2012? You will have the opportunity to cast your ballot for the second annual CHS YA Book of the Year 2012. The books were selected from the top Amazon & ALA YA Fiction of the Year nominees. The process for selecting the best CHS book will consist of three rounds. The preliminary competion of eliminating the top 20 to 10 begins Thursday October18-Friday November 2, 2012. If your favorite YA book with a 2011-12 copyright isn't on the list, you may include it on the ballot. The semifinals will occur a week afterwards. Finally, students will choose the winner among the top five finalists the week after Thanksgiving break. Ms. Geltch will announce the winning book at the Barnes & Noble book fair at the end of that week on Friday November 30, 2012. A minimum of 2 copies of the winning book will be purchased for library checkout. Copies of another finalists may also be added to the collection. Preliminary round ballots are now available at the library front desk. Trailers will be shown during lunch and afterschool (if okay with after school tutors) on selected days.
