Thanks to all CHS library visitors who voted in the first and second rounds of the Yellowjacket Book of the Year contest.
The top five finalists are as follows: Henry, April-The girl who was supposed to die Konigsberg, Bill-Openly straight Richards, Natalie-Six months later Rowell, Rainbow-Eleanor and Park Stine, R.L-Midsummer night's scream Take a look at the gallery for the trailers of the five finalists. The final round of voting will resume from December 1-5, 2014, upon return from Thanksgiving Break. Mr. Calderon and I purchase copies of the five finalists for student circulation. Ms. Geltch will announce the winner at the CHS Library Redlands Barnes & Noble Book Fair on Sunday December 7, 2014. The CHS Yellowjacket Literate Book Club will read the winner as the January 2015 Book of the Month. Book cover images from Good Reads Set your calendars now for an event to support the CHS Library. Save up money for great holiday purchases for friends and family. Redlands Barnes & Noble will host the CHS Book Fair on Sunday December 7, 2014. The CHS Library staff, students, and teachers will host fun activities from 1-5 PM.
The CHS Library will open voting for the 2014 YA Book of the Year beginning Monday November 3, 2014. Library visitors will participate in 3 rounds to select the winner- 25 -10 books, 10-5 books, and 5-1 book. Mr. Calderon and Ms. Geltch will purchase the top five novels and additional copies of the winning book for the CHS library. The winner will be announced during the CHS Barnes & Noble Book Fair at the Redlands Lugonia Shopping Center Sunday December 7, 2014. Former winners include I am number four by Pittacus Lore, Fault in our stars by John Green, and I hunt killers by Barry Lyga. Which book will CHS students and staff choose this year?
