Diane Acherman chronicles the heroism of Jan & Antonina Zabinski's heroism of saving Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto by hiding them in their zoo. Acherman especially parallels Antonina's strong communicative abilities with zoo animals to her interpersonal skills of calming the Jewish charges while protecting them from their Nazi oppressors. The movie trailer (I plan on seeing this film soon) highlights the Antonina's inner strength during this historical period.
