Instead of giving a standard paragraph review, I will list the ways I connected with Green's The fault in our stars
*remembering my mom's living her daily life in spite of cancer *falling in love with a favorite book & wishing to meet the author (Hazel & Augustus get that experience) *my and other's discomfort with watching others with physical limitations *a wonderful summer trip to Amsterdam While most people depict cancer as an epic battle to win, Green's Hazel regularly reminded me that it's a fact of life. Hazel, along with her two closest friends Augustus and Issac live like any one else-with good & bad days, happiness, sadness, anger, hope, and acceptance of their final fate-earlier than most. It reminded me more of the good times with my late mom, rather than the pain of her final days. Image located at http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11870085-the-fault-in-our-stars

I was reminded there are two sides to every story by reading Barakat's account of her childhood experience. I also learned a few tibits of Arab culture in the process. I better understand the challenge of implementing a two state solution after reading this narrative.

Devon can't even comprehend she was pregnant in the first place. As Devon faces trial for attempted murder & abandonment, she comes to terms with the person she has become.
